What website translation costs, component by component
Website translation cost is five numbers, not one: the software, the machine translation, the review by a translator, the route that puts the languages on your site, and the updates after launch. This guide prices each of the five with the figures from our own price list, works through three sites of different sizes, and shows what counting a source word once, however many languages you serve, does to the total.
Website translation cost, in five components
- Software. One plan covers the editor, the memory, the termbase, the checks and the website routes. Basic is EUR 9.90 a month including VAT with 25,000 machine-translation words and 10,000 served website words a month; Pro EUR 24.90 with 100,000 and 50,000; Studio EUR 59.90 with 300,000 and 200,000; Business EUR 99 with 600,000, 500,000 and five seats; Company EUR 249.90 with 1,500,000, 1,500,000 and twenty seats. Sites are unlimited on every plan (the price list).
- Machine translation. Priced in source words you can count in your own editor. The allowance above is included; beyond it, word packs from EUR 10 per 10,000 words, which is a tenth of a cent a word, and nothing is billed past the allowance unless you buy a pack.
- Review by a translator. You decide which pages a person reads. Hire a translator through an offer at a per-word rate you agree in the offer; exact memory matches bill at a lower band than new text, and the money is collected when you confirm and released when you accept (how offers work).
- The route. The WordPress plugin, the edge proxy, the script tag and the API are all included from the Basic plan up, with no per-site fee and no per-language fee.
- Updates. A changed string is translated again; everything else stays as reviewed. The served-word cap counts a source word once, so adding a ninth language costs no more served words than the first.
A source word is counted once, however many languages you serve, and nothing is billed past the allowance unless you buy a pack.

Three sites, priced
Website translation cost for three sites, counting every target
A 20,000-word marketing site in three new languages fits Pro at EUR 24.90 a month: 60,000 machine-translation words in the first month, inside the 100,000 allowance, and 20,000 served words inside the 50,000 cap; a translator reading the 2,000 words of the home and pricing pages is the one variable, at the rate you agree. A 100,000-word shop in two languages fits Studio at EUR 59.90: 200,000 words inside 300,000, and the shop inside the 200,000 served-word cap. An app and a site of 30,000 source words in five languages fit Studio too: 150,000 words in month one, then only the changes. These count every target language against the allowance, so they are ceilings, not estimates.
- Marketing site, 3 languages: Pro
- Shop, 2 languages: Studio
- App and site, 5 languages: Studio
- Month two: only the changes
Software
One plan, every route, unlimited sites
The plan is the one recurring part of website translation cost. It covers the CAT editor, translation memory and termbase on every plan, the 18 live checks, the structural check at delivery, the WordPress plugin, the edge proxy, the script tag and the API, and as many sites as you run. Seats are included on Business and Company; the personal plans are one person with the whole platform.
- Basic €9.90 · Pro €24.90 · Studio €59.90
- Business €99 · Company €249.90
- Unlimited sites
- All routes included
Machine translation
A tenth of a cent a word, counted where you can see it
Machine translation runs on models we host and is priced in source words, the number you can verify by opening the file in the editor. Each plan includes an allowance; past it, a pack of 10,000 words is EUR 10, 50,000 is EUR 45 and 100,000 is EUR 80. Exact matches from your memory are reused before the model is asked, so a site that repeats its product names and legal lines draws fewer words than its total suggests.
- Priced in source words
- Packs from €10 per 10,000
- Memory matches reused first
- No billing past the allowance without a pack
Review by a translator
Pay a person for the pages that matter
Machine translation with quality estimation gives every segment a score, so you can send a translator the pages where a mistake costs something and let the rest ship after your own read. The translator sets the per-word rate in the offer, exact memory matches bill at a lower band than new text, and the amount is collected when you confirm and released when you accept the work.
- Your choice of pages
- Rate agreed in the offer
- Memory bands lower the price
- Collected at confirmation, released at acceptance
The route
Plugin, proxy, script tag or API, at no extra charge
The WordPress plugin renders every language on your server with hreflang and translated meta, the edge proxy serves translated pages on a subdomain you point at it with one DNS record, the script tag translates in the visitor's browser on any site you can edit, and the API feeds a site you build. All four are included from Basic up, and the plugin is MIT-licensed.
- WordPress plugin
- Edge proxy
- Script tag
- REST API and SDK
Updates
Month two costs the changes, not the site
Strings discovered on your site flow into the project once; when a page changes, the changed strings are marked pending and translated again, and the reviewed ones stay as they were. The served-word cap counts a source word once across all your languages, so growing from two languages to ten changes the machine-translation words, not the cap.
- Changed strings only
- Reviewed strings stay
- Source words counted once
- Cache purged automatically
FAQ
Website translation costs, answered
On this platform: a plan from EUR 9.90 a month including VAT, machine translation inside the plan's allowance and then EUR 10 per 10,000 words, and a translator for the pages you choose at the per-word rate agreed in the offer. A 20,000-word site in three languages fits the EUR 24.90 Pro plan in month one, with the translator as the one variable; see the three worked examples above and the price list.
Website translation cost here is per source word, the number you can count in the editor. Machine translation draws words from the plan allowance, a translator quotes per word in the offer, and the website routes count served source words against a monthly cap, once per word however many languages you serve.
Machine translation draws words per target language, so the worked examples count every target against the allowance. The served-word cap does not: a source word is counted once, so ten languages cost the same served words as one, and sites are unlimited on every plan.
The rate is set in the offer, per word, and you can counter it. Exact matches from your memory bill at a lower band than new text, the full calculation is shown before anyone accepts, and the amount is collected when you confirm and released when you accept the delivery. You choose which pages a person reads; the rest can ship after your own review.
The free plan covers 3,000 words of documents, valid for 90 days, which is the place to try the editor on your own pages. Website serving is included from the Basic plan up, at EUR 9.90 a month including VAT.
Only the changed strings are translated again, and your reviewed translations stay as they were. In month two a stable site draws almost no machine-translation words; a site with weekly edits draws the words of those edits.
No. The plugin, the proxy, the script tag and the API are included from the Basic plan up, with no per-site fee and no per-language fee, and the plugin is MIT-licensed.
Install the WordPress plugin or point the proxy at your site: the strings it discovers show the source word count, and the plan allowance and the pack price do the rest. For a document-based estimate, upload a page export and read the quote the editor derives from it, the same number every time.
Count the words, then read your website translation cost off the plan
Every signup starts free with 3,000 words of documents; website serving is on every paid plan, from EUR 9.90 a month.
